Powerboating is a valuable accompanying skill for many sailors and windsurfers, but is also a fun and fast sport in its own right. Getting the balance between safety and exhilaration requires skill, education and lots of practice, which is what we aim to provide our students with by the end of each course at Hawley Lake.
The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is run over two consecutive days and covers everything needed to get you driving safely, from preparation to man overboard drills. There will be a variety of craft used, both planing and displacement.
On successful completion of the course, participants are awarded the RYA powerboat Level 2 certificate and RYA Start Powerboat Handbook.
Licenses for students aged 12-16 will be endorsed to the effect that they must only drive under the supervision of a responsible adult.
